Things to do in Glasgow, Edinburgh and the surrounding area
Make the most of your trip to Scotland. Glasgow is a lively, friendly city with grand Victorian architecture around George Square, a regenerated waterfront along the River Clyde, free museums and galleries such as Kelvingrove, and a famous live music, food and shopping scene. Edinburgh is around an hour away, with its castle, the Royal Mile and the Old and New Towns, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In December both cities have Christmas markets and winter events, so there is plenty to explore before or after competing.
