BF3 Statement on Athlete Ineligibility Due to Anti-Doping Violation
British Functional Fitness Federation is committed to upholding the highest standards of fair competition and integrity in the sport of functional fitness. As the National Governing Body in the UK, we align with the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) anti-doping policies to ensure a level playing field for all athletes.
It has come to our attention that an athlete currently serving a suspension from CrossFit due to an anti-doping violation had registered to compete in the British Functional Fitness National Championships 2025 – online qualifier. As per our anti-doping policy, athletes who are serving a ban from any sporting authority are ineligible to compete in BF3 competitions during their suspension period. As a result, this athlete has been removed from the competition and will not be permitted to compete in any BF3-sanctioned or affiliated events until their suspension period has ended.
We want to take this opportunity to remind all athletes of their responsibility to familiarise themselves with the iF3 anti-doping policy. This policy extends beyond testing and includes important regulations, such as restrictions on associating with banned athletes. Adhering to these rules is essential in protecting the integrity of our sport and ensuring a fair competition environment for all.
BF3 remains committed to clean sport and athlete integrity, and we will continue to enforce our anti-doping policy in alignment with international standards.
